Dig Deep To Find What's Missing

Nothing is more important than your own happiness, health, and family.

The work that you do in this world is not who you are, and it’s only a small piece of your life.

Your life is like a jigsaw puzzle.  If one of the pieces is missing then you will feel incomplete.

Often times finding that missing piece requires a lot of soul searching, self-reflection, and honesty.  You have to dig really deep into yourself to find what is truly missing, but with enough time you will eventually find what you’ve been looking for your whole life.

That is never found outside of yourself.  It can only be found from within.

At the end of the day all that anyone ever wants is love, family, and a deep sense of inner peace, belonging, and purpose.

So to help you today here is something you must know.  Your life must be about giving.  It must be about giving more of yourself and giving only from your heart.

Once you know that true love never requires you to sacrifice yourself, your health, or your family you will be met with a deep sense of relaxation and inner peace.  That’s because you are aligned and in agreement with what your heart and soul truly longs for, and you have your priorities in order.

To ensure you are giving yourself and your family the very best here are 10 tips.

1.  Take care of yourself first.  Shower, shave and moisturize your legs, put your eye cream and sunblock on, get ready for the day, enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee, eat a healthy protein packed breakfast, make yourself feel your absolute best by doing your makeup, your hair, putting on perfume, and wearing only quality clothing that make you feel great.

2.  Prioritize your relationship with your spouse.  Plan a date night, order the apps, share a greasy plate of fries covered in cheese, stay up late after the kids go to bed, have alone time and truly connect.  Talk about where you are going, what vacations you're planning in the next 12 months, and how incredible your year is going to be.  Grab 25 date night questions here.

3.  Cancel any unnecessary plans, appointments, or meetings and play with your kids instead.  All that your children want is your time and full attention.  They want to look into your eyes and feel your full presence.  They want to be seen and heard.  So put your devices away and do things that they love to do and invite them to do things that you love to do.

4.  Prioritize daily movement and meditation.  30 minutes of exercise is incredible for your health, mood, and energy levels.  1 hour of meditation when done properly is the equivalent to 8 hours of sleep! So factor in both to your day.  Go the gym, walk on the treadmill, try pilates, download a fitness app to workout at home, go swimming, dance around the kitchen.  Whatever it is that you love to do, do it!  But also get outside of your comfort zones and challenge yourself to try new things.

5.  Nap and rest if you’re tired.  You’re not a machine.  The best athletes in the world prioritize rest and recovery.  That’s why they are the best in their field.  Heck, even God rested on Sunday.  If you’ve been working hard, and you feel like you need to take a nap, or sleep in a little longer, honour your body.

6.  Drink your water.  A lot of times you can be dehydrated which leads to dizziness, blurred vision, digestion issues, weight gain, dull skin, and exhaustion.  Drink at least half of your body weight in ounces of water every single day.

7.  Limit caffeinated beverages to 1 to 2 a day.  Too much caffeine can negatively impact your adrenals, and cause more anxiety in your life.  Limit your intake to no more than 400mg a day.

8.  Limit or eliminate alcohol.  If you drink alcoholic beverages try stopping for 3 weeks (or forever), and drink no more than 2-3 alcoholic beverages a week.  Too much alcohol can cause excess fat storage on your body, brain fog, lack of motivation, can negatively impact your liver, mess with your hormones, cause you to age well beyond your years, and cause you to just feel like crap in general.

9.  Distance yourself from fear mongers and negativity.  Stop watching the news, stop scrolling social media, and remove or distance yourself from negative people.  Only you get to decide who gets a seat at your table.  Ensure the people you spend the most time with are positive, uplifting, inspiring, supportive, and have a high personal standard.

10.  Laugh more and don’t take yourself too seriously.  Your life is precious and you only get one shot at it.  Let go of anything that is not making you happy or that does not bring you joy.  If it’s not going to matter when you are sitting on your death bed, it shouldn’t take more than 1 second of your time or attention.
