Sacred Alone Time

One of my favourite things to do is simply sit in silence. The more sacred alone time I have with myself. The better. Oh, how over the years I’ve missed out on so much by this simple practice of solitude and time to be with myself.
As time passes, the more I come to the knowing that this life of ours is a beautiful and magnificent journey of self-love, self-mastery, and self-discovery and it's a journey that never ends. It's a journey with a lot of crazy twists and turns, but at the heart of it all, is something so powerful. Love. It’s your life, and you get to create it and mold it however you choose too. I wish I knew the authority I had 20 something years ago.
No longer am I interested in rushing around, trying to get as many things accomplished in a day or pushing myself to exhaustion. No longer do I use revenge as a means to achieve success. No longer do I need to compete or even worry about what someone else is doing with their life. No longer do I allow the opinions of others to stop me from doing what I want to do with my life. I choose myself, my peace, and I choose honouring my body in a way that feels really good to me. Even if that goes against what’s currently trending or the standards society has lead us to believe is normal and acceptable. When I honour my truth, my heart is full and there is such tremendous peace of mind when you stop, close your eyes, breathe, and sit with yourself.
This morning after breakfast I heard a little whisper. Delight in the Lord. "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."- Psalm 37:4
Now I am not a preacher, and I am definitely not a religious person, nor do I have scriptures memorized in the back of my head but this one in particular came to me which usually means, I'm going to channel and write something and I trust that whatever comes through me will always land on the person who needs to hear it.
It’s usually when you find yourself in a spiritual warfare, when you're stuck in your own head that you either turn to church, a pastor, your bible, sage, crystals, or to God. I’d highly suggest you sit with yourself and seek first the Kingdom of God that is within you. That means no need to turn to anyone for help or go anywhere else but where you are seated right now. “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” - Corinthians 3:16
Many years ago I didn’t really understand the magnitude of this scripture. I guess it could go hand in hand with “Be still, and know that I am God.” - Psalm 46:10
Now delight, and knowing can only come when you’ve made connection with something deeper within. There you will find love, joy, and a presence of peace that surpasses all understanding. “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:7
You see, when you know who you are, you don’t have to really do much but believe with great pleasure, joy, and satisfaction. I often wonder how many people operate this way. I wonder how many people actually wake up and set the standard of pleasure, joy, and satisfaction with ones life. I know for myself, this is the only way I’m going to live because trudging through life, rushing off, and not delighting in love or the present moment never served me or my family, and I doubt it serves anyone of this world.
So this is just a daily reminder to be still, know, and have such delight that when you ground yourself in love, peace, power, truth, the desires of your heart will be given to you. It doesn’t say anything about earning, proving, rushing, or striving. It simply states delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. It doesn’t say maybe, it doesn’t say at a hefty price of self-sacrifice. It's freely given.
All you gotta do is breathe it all in and rest peacefully knowing that what you want is already yours.

Sooner or later it just becomes easier to just be who you are instead of trying to be someone you're not. Real transformation isn't about being someone different, or aiming to be someone better. Real transformation is coming home to yourself and a remembering. It's like peeling all the layers away and removing what's not really you, so you can get to the really good stuff that's been there the entire time
