Full Bloom and Living in Colour
Apr 19, 2026
There is something so remarkably mysterious about the wisdom of our bodies. There is something profound that happens when we actually take the time to sit down and listen to ourselves instead of just pushing forward.
This practice has taken me some time to truly embrace.
This practice of being with myself, listening to myself and allowing myself to feel and speak freely is something I never allowed myself to do before, and I think this is true for a lot of people.
We’re often so busy trying to get from one place to the next, or too busy trying to help everyone else, that we never really take the time to just sit with ourselves and listen.
Quieting the mind and allowing your truth to emerge takes solitude and time alone.
It takes courage too, and it’s a sacred journey, one that is precious, delicate, and divine. Almost like a rose. You’ve got the thorns that prevent you from reaching the real beauty at the top, but eventually we need to sit with those thorns and feel the pain they have caused. We have to let the pain speak, and as we pass from one thorn to the next, we eventually get to experience the love that rests at the top, after we’ve overcome everything else that tried to hurt us.
It’s not often that we have the time or space to just be.
To sit with our feelings, our emotions, or the stories that keep circulating in our heads, but this work is absolutely necessary if we want to experience peace, love, beauty, and joy. We have to stop everything we are doing and face whatever might be trying to pull us backward or stop us from growing.
The beautiful part about all of this is that we are all similar. We all have our own thorns, pain, stories, and struggles. We all have things in our lives that have prevented us from experiencing real beauty, and our job is to return to that space.
To take the good with the bad, the pain with the pleasure, the ugly with the beautiful, and to integrate it all fully so that we can live freely and happily despite what may have happened in our lives.
The older I get, the more I understand the magnitude of this life of ours and how mysterious it all really is, somehow all unfolding perfectly, just like the rose.
We have to trust that despite all the thorns, or seasons of pain and suffering, in the end we get to experience what it feels like to be in full bloom and living in color.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that no matter what season you’re in, the blooming season or the non blooming season, simply trust the process and know that in due time, it all works out for you.
And if, by chance, the bloom doesn’t come back, you can always choose to plant something new and exciting in your life.
A new kind of flower, or a different color, because in the end, who you decide to be, or who you decide to become, is ultimately in your own hands.
