“Let’s just get them in the door”…

Well, I don’t know about you, but not everyone is actually welcome into my house, and I’m not about to take anything just because it’s free.

In fact, this is what most business conferences and marketers will teach you to do, but that method doesn’t work long-term.

Here’s what happens, here’s why this doesn’t work, and why you should charge more.

People looking for free stuff usually are only in it for one thing…

To get as much from you for as little as possible.

Those who over consume, buy random things just because they’re on sale, or sign up for everything just because it’s "cheap" obviously have lots of money.. Just look in their garage, closet, or basement that's full of tote bins.

They usually have lives full of complete chaos and clutter, they never take care of their belongings properly, they never end up using what they bought and/or never get any real results, and yes...  They're usually stressed out, overstimulated, busy, exhausted all the time, and miserable. 

And they aren’t the kind of people I actually want to have in my life. I want people who are healthy and actually have their shit together.

If you're not careful, people will take advantage of your generosity and kindness and you eventually burn yourself out, likely for people who were never very serious in the first place. People who just like to waste your time and suck the life from you, and guess what?

You can’t ever get your time or your energy back.

Eventually, that does eat away at your soul, your health, and your sense of self-worth, and you only end up attracting the wrong people and hurting yourself.

Charity keeps the bigger issue alive and usually keeps people right where they are, and this goes against every religious teaching out there in this world.

Lucky for you, I’m not religious, and I won’t ever teach you what never works, like…

Just volunteer your time.

Donate all of your warn out and used shit and just give it to charity.

Keep on giving to others because it's the "nice" thing to do.

Give your first 10% to God, so you put your money into some plate at church, thinking that’s the right way.

But what if that’s actually only harming you and making the problem bigger?

Because guess what?

You should be focusing your energy on building wealth and being a beacon of light for others to look up to, not enabling others to live below their means, or focusing on poverty and all the negative things in the world.

Here’s why undercharging doesn’t work.

There’s no need for people to push themselves or try to achieve something better because why would they? They can just get it all from you for free.

You have to cut people off.

Mean? Cruel? Rude? Heartless? 🤔 Perhaps to those looking for freebies and those not working very hard on themselves, but you’re actually doing them a favour.

You’re actually making them rise up to meet you.

You’re actually demanding they step up and be better.

You’re actually requesting more of them, and that’s a really great thing.

You’re not seeing them as a victim or a needy beggar who can’t afford something or needs a coupon or a free handout, but you’re seeing them for their divine truth.

Someone who CAN afford it, and that’s what actually changes a person’s life.

When you know your time, energy, products, and services are actually worth something and actually get people results, you don’t discount yourself just to make other people happy or to fit their budget.

If someone really wants something and it’s important to them, they ALWAYS find a way to make it happen. They always find the money to afford whatever they want.

And if they can’t afford it, well, that’s not your issue to worry about. You don’t need to feel “bad” for anyone. Ever.

They’ll come back to you when they can afford you, and they will gladly pay you what you are worth.

Pricing and knowing your worth isn’t a strategic marketing plan.

I can tell you, the more you charge, the more people actually show up and get the results they’re actually signing up for because they VALUE their time and their investment.

Those who have no reason to show up and no skin in the game, well…

They usually don’t value themselves or their time, and they just stay stuck right where they are, and that’s also not your problem and none of your concern. It’s theirs.

Let them figure it out. Again.
